HOW TO MAKE IT
You can easily adapt this sweet chili brussels sprouts recipe to make it your own. Here’s are the ingredients I used to make it.
- Brussels sprouts
- 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 tsp of garlic powder
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Ground pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce (store bought, or homemade recipe linked above)
- 1/2 -1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1/4 tsp chili garlic paste
- Sesame seed (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat your oven to 425℉.
- Cut the bottoms off the brussels sprouts, slice them in half, and toss any of the bad outer leaves. Give your sprouts a good wash then pat dry with a paper towel.
- Line a baking sheet with foil.
HOW TO ROAST BRUSSEL SPROUTS
- In a bowl, mix the cleaned, dried and cut brussels sprouts with oil, salt, pepper, garlic and crushed red peppers.
- Place them evenly on the lined baking sheet and place them in the oven for about 15 minutes.
Every oven is different so keep an eye on them to make sure they don’t burn. - Flip them over and bake for 10 minutes.
- While the brussels sprouts are baking make the sweet chili sauce
- To a small bowl, add the sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, and chili garlic paste. Stir to combine.
- Brush the brussels sprouts all over with the sweet chili sauce, reserving 3 tbsp for later. Set oven to low broil. Return to the oven for another 5-8 minutes.
Because of the sugars from the sweet chili sauce, keep an eye on the brussels sprouts to make sure they aren’t burning. - Microwave the remaining sweet chili sauce, add the roasted brussels sprouts to a serving bowl and pour the remaining microwaved sweet chili sauce over the brussels sprouts and gently mix to combine. Serve right away.
