Ingredients
1lbchicken breastYou can find thin cuts at Walmart
3/4cup heavy whipping cream
4tbspbutterunsalted
1/4cup Swanson® chicken broth *use low sodium
1 1/2tspgarlic powder
salt and pepperfor taste
parsleyfor garnishment (optional)
Instructions
Add 2 tbsp of butter to a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the chicken and lightly season one side with salt and pepper. Cook for 3 minutes or until done. Flip the chicken and season with salt and pepper once more. Cook for 3 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set to the side.
Drain the fat in the skillet. In the same skillet over medium heat, add the remaining butter, heavy whipping cream, chicken broth and garlic powder. Mix well.
Return the chicken back the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
Tips to Make it:
No prep is needed (unless you're like me and like to clean your chicken first) to make this chicken in garlic cream sauce as long as you follow the recipe steps and read the notes below. This is a lightened-up cream sauce, therefore the sauce isn't thick. If you want the sauce thicker, add up to a 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
Shortcuts:
Use already thin cuts of chicken breasts at Walmart. If you buy thick cuts of chicken breast, you'll have to split them into thinner cuts and cooking time will vary.
What to Serve with Chicken in Garlic Cream Sauce:
To keep things prepless, use broccoli in a microwaveable steamed bag. Mixed vegetables, asparagus or cauliflower are great with this chicken too.
