Chicken in Garlic Cream Sauce
This chicken in garlic cream sauce requires nothing more than gathering all the ingredients from your local Walmart store and placing them in one skillet. This stress-free weeknight meal goes perfectly with broccoli or asparagus on the side.
Servings 4 people
- 1 lb chicken breast You can find thin cuts at Walmart
- ¾ cup heavy whipping cream
- 4 tbsp butter unsalted
- ¼ cup Swanson® chicken broth *use low sodium
- 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper for taste
- parsley for garnishment (optional)
Add 2 tbsp of butter to a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the chicken and lightly season one side with salt and pepper. Cook for 3 minutes or until done. Flip the chicken and season with salt and pepper once more. Cook for 3 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set to the side.
Drain the fat in the skillet. In the same skillet over medium heat, add the remaining butter, heavy whipping cream, chicken broth and garlic powder. Mix well.
Return the chicken back the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Tips to Make it:
No prep is needed (unless you're like me and like to clean your chicken first) to make this chicken in garlic cream sauce as long as you follow the recipe steps and read the notes below. This is a lightened-up cream sauce, therefore the sauce isn't thick. If you want the sauce thicker, add up to a ½ cup Parmesan cheese.
Use already thin cuts of chicken breasts at Walmart. If you buy thick cuts of chicken breast, you'll have to split them into thinner cuts and cooking time will vary.
What to Serve with Chicken in Garlic Cream Sauce:
To keep things prepless, use broccoli in a microwaveable steamed bag. Mixed vegetables, asparagus or cauliflower are great with this chicken too.
