Duke's Mayonnaise Honey Bun Cake

Ingredients

Cake

  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup Duke's Mayonnaise
  • 1/16 tsp salt

Cinnamon and sugar mixture

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar plus an additional 3 tbsp
  • 1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • tiny pinch of salt

Icing

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cinnamon and sugar mixture

  • Mix the ingredients together. Set to the side.

Batter

  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix just until combined.
  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle over the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture.
  • Pour the rest of the batter evenly over the cinnamon mixture.
  • Bake 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.

For the icing

  • To make the icing, stir the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. Mix well until the lumps are gone and it’s smooth.
  • Spread the sugar mixture over the cake while it’s still hot. Let the cake cool completely before serving.
