– Wash the cranberries. In a sauce pan over medium high heat, add sugar and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the cranberries and the lemon juice bring to a boil.
– Simmer stirring occasionally. The cranberries will start to burst.
– Cook until the sauce has thickened. Transfer to a bowl. Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Let cool completely. The sauce will thicken up more as it cools off.
