Notes

Tips for cooking tuna patties:
Be very careful flipping the tuna patties over, They are very delicate. To help flip the patties over, it will be useful to use two spatulas. If you can, purchase a fish spatula. It's perfect for flipping delicate fish. Here's one that is similar to the one I used in the video https://amzn.to/3oelc80
Do not overcrowd the pan. I can fit about 3-4 tuna patties in the skillet. Feel free to add more oil if needed.
If the oil becomes messy with brown bits etc, clean out the pan before you fry the rest of the patties.

  1. I am looking to make these but would like to ask opinions on if they taste better fresh frozen or cooked frozen? And if freshly frozen is there a difference in defrost time/cooking time please?

  2. April, this is a fabulous recipe for something different (for us) using canned tuna sitting in our pantry. My boyfriend was skeptical, but I’m glad I made it anyways because we both loved it!5 stars

  3. Wow,these are absolutely delicious ! Will definitely make again as I love tuna. I did use less S&P but otherwise followed recipe which was very well written….Thank you.5 stars

  5. THIS TURNED OUT DELICIOUS. I MADE A FEW SUBSTITUTIONS. I CUT OUT DILL, EGGS, AND GARLIC. I DIDN’T HAVE ANY DILL ON HAND, GARLIC UPSETS MY SYSTEM, AND I ONLY EAT DUCK EGGS. I DIDN’T MAKE IT TO THE MARKET SO I COULDN’T ADD THEM BUT I WILL NEXT TIME TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE. I ADDED CELERY SALT, CRUSHED MINI TOASTED BREADS INSTEAD OF PANKO. I USED HELLMAN’S WITH OLIVE OIL. FRIED THEM UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN AND OMG!!!! I MADE A SANDWICH USING MIRACLE WHIP FOR A LITTLE TANG. IT TASTES SO GREAT! WHEN MY 2 AND 5 YEAR OLD KEPT WANTING MORE AND MORE I KNEW IT WAS A HIT!5 stars

  6. These are great. If I didn’t know they were tuna I would not have known what they were. I prepared mostly like recipe except 3-5oz cans tuna, added Old. At seasoning, only 1/4 tsp salt and pepper. They seemed plenty salty with much less. I used green onions instead of red and only 2 eggs. I will definitely make again.

    1. Thank you for trying out the recipe and for sharing your feedback! It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the dish and found it easy to prepare. Using green onions instead of red and reducing the amount of salt and eggs to your preference is a great way to customize the recipe. I appreciate your valuable input and hope you’ll continue to enjoy making it again in the future!
