Prepless 20 Minute Bacon Tortellini Carbonara

This lightning fast 20 minutes or less, 5 Ingredient Tortellini bacon Carbonara is the easiest pasta you’ll ever make! It’s another one of my prepless meals that uses Swanson® Natural Goodness Chicken Broth, 14.5 oz Can. I love using this because it’s full of flavor, low sodium, high quality and there aren’t any artificial flavors or preservatives. Tortellini

Heavy whipping cream: This is for the cream sauce

Swanson® All Natural Chicken Broth (Low Sodium): I love to add this to the sauce for a nice rich flavor.

Fully cooked bacon:  You can find fully cooked bacon at Walmart. It will cut your cooking time in half! 

Salt and pepper: 

Parsley: For garnishment but it’s not needed

How to make tortellini bacon carbonara:

  1. Cook the tortellini according to package directions. Drain set to the side.   

  2. Cook the fully cooked bacon over medium high heat until crispy, about 3 minutes Only drain the fat if you are not using fully cooked bacon. Remove bacon and set to the side.

  3. To the same skillet over medium heat, add the heavy whipping cream and parmesan cheese. Mix until the cheese has melted. Then add the broth. Mix well.

  4. Add the tortellini and bacon to the skillet and combine until coated with parmesan sauce. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Garnish with parsley (optional)

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz tortellini
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup Swanson® Natural Goodness Chicken Broth 14.5 oz Can
  • 9 slices bacon I used fully cooked bacon from Walmart
  • 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper for taste
  • parsley for garnishment (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Cook the tortellini according to package directions. Drain set to the side.   
  • Cook the fully cooked bacon over medium high heat until crispy, about 3 minutes Only drain the fat if you are not using fully cooked bacon. Remove bacon and set to the side.
  • To the same skillet over medium heat, add the heavy whipping cream and parmesan cheese. Mix until the cheese has melted. Then add the broth. Mix well.

Notes

Shortcuts:
The fully cooked bacon will take about 3 mins to crisp up. You can use regular turkey or beef bacon, however it will take a bit longer to cook and there will be more fat leftover. Make sure you drain off the fat.
